About

"The Artist's Playhouse was started on the belief that the most unique thing you can bring to the character is you and your point of view. The technique is designed upon a 4 step base that answers 11 crucial questions that each artist will build upon and create a technique that is exclusive to them. We focus on the connection as well as the separation of you the artist and you the character and the control of both."

Philosophy

Knowing ones self is crucial to a performance of any kind. Discovering our depth and eccentricities helps the artist mold their performance to the only truth they know, their own. Tools, technique and training move us forward. They assist us to grow and learn but, as in any of life’s situations, we must be taught the correct techniques to cultivate the truest talent. Like a basketball star shooting, a prima ballerina doing pliés or even a virtuoso playing the piano the most important aspect is form. All you have to do is watch a basketball game, see a ballet, or listen to a maestro play piano to know not everyone’s form is the same and more importantly it shouldn’t be.

Individuality is what makes you and your performance unique.
Our philosophy at The Artist Playhouse is to incorporate all forms of art to enhance all others. Learning to incorporate everything that makes us a unique and individual talent.

All artists have the burning desire to create. A painter uses his surroundings, emotions and talent to create a frozen portion of time on a canvas. A singer digs deep in their soul to express the true feelings within. A musician closes their eyes and takes you to the deepest corner of their mind and the director uses all the pieces on his chess board to tell a story.
An actor shows us who we are, holds up the mirror to reflect society and its’ nuances. All artists show us our similarities no matter how different we are.

The common thread for all of these arts is the truth. The depth of that truth and the story we tell with it defines us as the Artist we want to be. That truth will leave a permanent mark on any soul it touches. When you achieve that depth, that honesty, this is when you are truly an artist. It is also when your work (and our work) has just begun.
